Another exciting opportunity for girls at convention is being a part of their council delegations.
Girl delegates are elected representatives of their local councils, and they participate in all business sessions and actions of the National Council. They will have a busy, exciting convention. Mornings will be spent in National Council business sessions. During the afternoons and evenings, girl delegates will join their peers at the Girl Scout Leadership Institute (delegates are automatically enrolled in the GSLI), gaining new skills and participating in thought-provoking discussions of important issues.

Since Girl Scout councils elect their own delegates, you must inquire with your local council. Many Girl Scout councils are looking for girls who will be good representatives of not only Girl Scouts but also of their council’s interests.
Candidates should also have an interest or experience in a policy-influencing or policy-making capacity. Additional considerations are a girl’s ability to think strategically and focus on the future of the Girl Scout Movement and her demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the workings of Girl Scout councils within the Movement.
