The Girl Scout National Historic Preservation Center (NHPC) offers archival training via the History Conference to educate volunteers and council staff on archival best practices. The training includes models and tools to help councils maintain their historic collections. Further, the History Conference grants “history volunteers” nationwide the opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate on projects.
We encourage Girl Scout volunteers and council staff and Girl Scouts in high school (by special permission) who are interested in preserving and promoting the Girl Scout legacy to attend the conference. Volunteers, historians and history enthusiasts, and Girl Scout executives and marketing and communications staff have attended past History Conferences. Participation is also appropriate for program and fund development staff, especially those who support Girl Scout history volunteers or use archival assets in their work.
Registration is handled through the GSUSA convention registration system.
Register for Girl Scout History Conference 2014 no later than September 15, 2014, midnight, EST.
